This course introduces the principles of thermodynamics and inorganic chemistry necessary to explore rock forming processes in mid-ocean ridge, island arc, and ocean-island settings.

GEO 253B: Advanced topics in petrology and geochemistry (Volcanology)

graduate level volcanology

This course applies geochemical and geophysical principles to volcanic systems in order to place constraints on volcanological processes and igneous rock petrogenesis, emplacement, and volcaniclastic deposition.
