Hello, Lafayette Families! I hope this message finds you happy and healthy! These sure are some wild and crazy times, but we have each other to get us through it all! Please feel free to contact me directly via my school email address at gpetersil@sandi.net. Otherwise, I will check on this site for messages as well.
Please encourage your student to wear their amplification throughout the day to keep those auditory brain cells growing! Using listening skills to get everyday tasks done around the house is a great way to work on auditory skills too! For instance, try using only your voice to give directions such as, "Set the table by putting DISHES on the TABLE FIRST, THEN PUT GLASSES NEXT to the PLATES." "Let's do laundry." "BRING me ALL of your PANTS BEFORE you BRING your SHIRTS." Try it out and let me know how it goes! Of course, reading aloud with your child is always a great way to learn.
