• 1-zippered pencil pouch

• 6-colored tab subject dividers

• 2 or more pens

• Lined white paper (refillable)

Grading Policy

-Organization/Binder Checks................................25% 

Binders will be checked every Friday and must include a minimum of 5 Cornell Notes per week. 

-Tutorials and Grade Checks..................................25%

All TRFs (tutorial request forms) must be completed prior to coming to class.  Students will also be graded on their notes, reflections and participation during the tutorial session.

-Assignments and Projects/Participation..................50%

Students will complete quickwrites, reflections, learning logs, and group projects in class as well as meet deadlines for applications and research projects.

In addition, students will participate in Socratic Seminars and Philosophical Chairs.  Much of the work in AVID is collaborative and students are expected to be active participants in their learning.  All students are responsible for maintaining a positive learning environment.
