Prussia Cove & Perran Class Visit Pendennis Castle

Perran class joined forces with Prussia Cove and recently visited Pendennis Castle as part of their topic “Turrets & Tiaras”. With 18 adult helpers we boarded the mini buses and a coach and left with 59 very excited children!

On arrival we met Alison and Deb, the education officers who were going to take our workshops. We all had a snack then Perran Class met Deb outside for a History lesson!! The children dressed

up as Henry VIII, the King of Spain and France and Henry’s first 2 wives.

In the workshops the children were able to dress up as people who used to live and work in the castle almost 500 years ago. They also looked at artefacts and objects that would have been used in the castle. While Perran class had their workshop Prussia Cove class had a look around the castle. They were able to see an archery exhibition and met 2 people who could tell them all about their life in the castle! The children explored the castle and found the kitchen in the cellar. When they cooked the bread the heat rose up through the floors to keep the castle warm!

We all came back to school shattered after having a fabulous time at Pendennis Castle ~ thank you to everyone who helped on our trip!!
