My class usually has a short lesson, followed by an activity that reinforces that lesson. I tend not to give my students answers instead I prefer to let them discover concepts and how they connect to the learning that I have shown. I feel that this helps students remember concepts better. We often work in groups in my class where each student has a role in the group. Discussion in that group is key. I expect that all members of the group fully participate. Labs and hands on activities are frequent in my classroom and often help reinforce or discover a key concept.
