How can I find out what my grade is?
Student access information will be sent home to students. Please contact the office for any questions about parent access.
What is the LATE WORK policy?
Assignments that are late lose points!
Assignments are designed to help you learn, so completing all the assignments is a requirement.
Generally speaking, an assignment will lose some credit for each day it is late.
The exception to this is late work due to illness.
What if I am absent?
If you have an excused absence you will need to turn in any assignments that were due as soon as you return. If you have been sick, you will have one extra day for each day you missed to complete any assignments that were assigned when you were absent. It is YOUR responsibility to turn in the homework that was due while you were absent and to complete the make-up assignments (homework and classwork) and turn them in on time.
If for some reason you know you are going to be absent, work is not given ahead of time.
It will be your responsibility to complete the assignment by looking at the website or getting the information from a friend. If your absence will be 5 days or more, you may request an independent study packet from the office. Please see your planner for independent study rules. You must give the office a minimum of two weeks before your absence.
If you have an extended absence to due illness, your parents may call the office before 9:00 a.m. on the third day and request your work. They will be able to pick it up in the office at the end of the day. It's a good idea to find a classmate that you can call/email to ask about class in the event you are sick. Be sure to check the website when you are absent - homework is usually posted by the end of the school day.
How much homework will I have?
Approximately 90 minutes to two hours of homework will be assigned each day (total for all classes). Every student should record assignments and due dates in his/her Student Planner each period. A list of homework assignments and due dates will be posted in the classrooms and on the web site.
How is the Student Planner used?
The Student Planner is an extremely valuable communication tool to bridge home and school. Students should write their homework and assignments in the planner each day. We will NOT be checking the planner daily, but may perform "spot inspections". Parents should be looking at the planner each day. It is recommended that parents also check the website for the daily homework assignments.
If a student has a number of missing and/or late assignments, we may take advantage of the "Signature" section and require a daily parent signature.
