Sarah was born at Eden Hospital and she grew up in various parts of the East Bay. She went to Cal Poly, SLO and taught Math and elementary school for eleven years before deciding to stay home with her own kids. Her two sons (4th grade and 2nd grade) and daughter (TK) are proud Proctor Lions! In her spare time (Ha!), she enjoys crafting, baking, reading, camping, and traveling. This is her third year on the PTA board and she values all the connections she's made, people she's met, and new activities the PTA has hosted!

Katie is a former elementary school teacher turned stay-at-home mom to three busy girls, including a first grader and kindergartner at Proctor this year. After 11+ years in the classroom, she now channels all that teacher energy into PTA projects, color-coded spreadsheets, and cheering on the Proctor community.

She previously served on the Board of Directors at Castro Valley Parent Nursery School and is excited to support Proctor families as the Executive Vice President of the PTA. When she's not at school or a PTA event, you'll likely find her shuttling her girls to and from their many activities or attempting to watch a TV show after bedtime—between the many interruptions that come with raising three little ones. She's excited to be part of the Proctor community and looks forward to many years of making memories with Proctor families.

Laura was born and raised in the East Bay. She earned a bachelor’s degree in physical sciences (physics and chemistry) from UC Berkeley, with a minor in music. Laura married her high school sweetheart and moved around the country for his engineering career before convincing him to move back to the Bay Area to be closer to family. Before becoming a mom, she spent a decade as a scientist and project manager, specializing in clinical laboratory testing. Laura’s daughter Isabelle will be in first grade this year at Proctor, and she can’t wait to help create more memories at this amazing school! When not at school or work, you can find Laura feeding piles of cardstock to her Cricut, playing clarinet in the Castro Valley community band and orchestra, and roaming the neighborhood playing Pokémon Go. 

Vanessa Rhodes and her family live in Fairview, just south of Castro Valley, and feel fortunate to be part of the Proctor community through an inter-district transfer. They value the diversity of the Proctor community and appreciate how families from different backgrounds create a welcoming, enriching environment for all students.

Now with a second grader and fourth grader at Proctor, Vanessa is excited to serve as the PTA Vice President of Fundraising. After serving on the PTA Board last year, she is looking forward to building on that experience by helping create fun, engaging fundraising opportunities that strengthen the school community while supporting programs that benefit every student. She believes fundraising is most successful when it brings families together and creates opportunities for connection, school spirit, and shared purpose.

Professionally, Vanessa has spent her career in labor organizing, leadership development, and political advocacy, with a deep commitment to public education, economic justice, and building strong communities. She hopes to bring her organizational skills, collaborative leadership style, and enthusiasm to help make this a successful and memorable year for Proctor students, families, and staff.

Tammy was born in Oakland, California and spent most of her childhood moving between the Bay Area and Hong Kong before she ended up in Castro Valley and attended CVHS.  She graduated from Cal State Hayward (now CSUEB) and received her B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Advertising.  She currently has a 5th grader attending Proctor Elementary.  If you're try to locate here, you'll most likely find her volunteering at school.

Nat, born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand, immigrated to the United States and completed her high school education at Dos Pueblos High School in Santa Barbara. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration, concentration in accounting, from California Poly State University, San Luis Obispo, and her master’s degree in taxation from Golden Gate University. As a CPA, she worked in a public accounting firm for 12 years before deciding to take a break from her career to focus on her two sons. Her eldest son is six years old and currently a first grader at Proctor Elementary School. In her free time, Nat enjoys traveling with her family, exploring new cities and countries.

Julie was raised in the Seattle area and moved around the country for a few years before finally calling the Bay Area home in 2014. She and her husband settled in Castro Valley in 2019 to bring up their 2 children in the Proctor district. Julie has a BA in Business Administration from Azusa Pacific University and a Masters of Organizational Leadership and Strategic and Organizational Communication (MAOL&SOC) from Gonzaga University. When not at work, Julie enjoys getting crafty - with paint!

Faye is definitely a local girl, born and raised in the East Bay. She earned a BA in Graphic Arts at California State University, Hayward. After working at a printing press and an advertising agency, she eventually pursued a freelance career, offering graphic design, photography and other creative ideas. Now her main responsibility is her two daughters, who attend Proctor Elementary. She is always interested in figuring out different creative processes and currently enjoys gardening, sewing and reading.  

Darlene hails from the Mojave desert and 1st came to the Bay Area to attend Stanford University. Since completing a B.A. in Human Biology she has taught 7th grade humanities, worked on teacher quality projects, directed a summer camp for gifted students and is now in her 11th year as a school princpal. She holds MAs in Counselor Education and School Administration, and has two children who recently graduated from college (Hurray!).

Stephanie is a full time mom of two energetic boys and has a passion for local community and sustainability. Her working background is in healthcare consulting, as well as teaching yoga. Stephanie has studied massage therapy and participates on the citizen advisory council for HARD (Hayward Parks) and works with local organizations on projects such as the walking school bus (CV Matters and Safe Routes to School), and advocating for sidewalks on Proctor Rd. In 2023, Stephanie worked with Rosa del Duca to create "safe routes to school" signs for homes near Proctor. She is excited to expand her impact with the Proctor Elementary community as her eldest son joins the kindergarten class of Lions. Stephanie also enjoys cooking, baking, gardening and volunteering with her boys. 

Vaishali, born and raised in Kuwait to an Indian family, spent her early years as a global nomad before immigrating to Ohio during high school. She earned her bachelor's degree in business and Spanish from The Ohio State University. She moved to the West Coast for work in 2011 and settled in Castro Valley during the pandemic, which she now calls home. Her daughter starts TK at Proctor Elementary School this fall, and the family's doodle rounds out the household. In addition to freelance projects and being an active community advocate, she enjoys practicing yoga — including teaching kids mindfulness — and loves traveling and trying new food.

Michelle grew up in the Bay Area and is a mother to two Proctor kids.  She was formerly an elementary school teacher after graduating from UCLA and receiving her MA and credential from SJSU. She is now the primary caregiver of her three children. Her hopes for this year is to be actively involved and to help build a bridge between teachers and families in order to have a thriving community. In her spare time, she enjoys crocheting, traveling, crafting, and baking.

Gabby grew up in Los Angeles, California and moved to the Bay Area for school.  She has lived in Castro Valley for the last 18 years with her husband. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology.  Gabby works full time with Kaiser Permanente.  She has twin daughters who are in 4th grade at Proctor Elementary.  She loves to spend her free time with her family and enjoys traveling.  She enjoys volunteering and helping out.
