Round Table Discussion:  Discussing Workforce Expectations

INDUSTRY & GRADUATE ROUND TABLE: Workforce expectations of entry-level skills

Steven Metta, graduate 2022

During my time at RTC I was fortunate enough to have met a team of like minded individuals that were interested in reorienting their career to an industry with large demand and abundant opportunities for success.

The school did a great job at keeping students engaged throughout the 18 months of the program. Modules focused on developing student’s skill sets and preparing them for the job market.

Instructors at RTC are industry professionals themselves and help students realistically get a feel for what they can expect in their careers once they’ve graduated. Every instructor without exception has done exceptionally well at generating student interest and keeping their classes interesting, engaging and putting emphasis on hands on.

After graduating, I started my career as a heavy equipment mechanic, day in day out I use theory and skills that have been taught to me at school.

I’ll be forever grateful for the staff, instructors and students for making my experience at RTC one I can be proud of.
