What are T-levels?

T Levels are a brand new qualification designed to give young people a head start towards the future they want. They follow GCSEs and are equivalent to 3 A Levels.

Local Colleges

North Herts College has 3 campuses, one in Hitchin and two in Stevenage.


Subjects such as business, tourism & events, catering, creative & performing arts, and sports are taught at the Hitchin campus.


Childcare, health & social care, IT & computing, and science at taught at the Stevenage Campus. There is also a specialist construction and engineering campus in Stevenage as well

Spring Board @ NHC

Springboard is for young people aged 16-24 who require additional specialist support before progressing to a mainstream college course or employment

Springboard is a full time personalised course at North Hertfordshire College which provides students with support, knowledge, skills and confidence to become more independent, make informed decisions and ultimately to progress in to work. The course is delivered in self-contained teaching centres in Watford and Letchworth.

Many of our students have a diagnosis or traits of Autistic Spectrum Disorder, typically Asperger Syndrome or High Functioning Autism

Oaklands College has two campuses, one in St Albans and one in Welwyn Garden City. It has a on site garage for to study car mechanics, a beauty salon, restaurant and even a zoo!

Oaklands Wolves Sports Academies. They also have 8 sports academies - athletics, men's football, women's football, cycling, rugby, hockey basketball and netball. Train and study at the St Albans campus.

The Bedford College Group

There are 4 colleges in the Bedford College Group. Bedford College and Bedford 6th form offer a variety of different courses. Shuttleworth offers land based and animal courses and there is also the National College of Motor Sport at Silverstone
