The Princes have had great seasons this year for PJHS Fall Sports including the girls’ softball team, cross country team and the boys’ baseball team. The Lady Princes fought hard all season and ended with a record of 5-13. They went 1-3 at the Puma Classic coming in 5th place! The game against Stark County was a long one and the girls battled hard for 9 innings. The team was down 11-0 in the second inning but the girls did not give up! They ended up 1 run short with a final score of 24-25. Coach Brabant is proud of the team and all of their progress made during the season.
The Jr. High Cross Country team had lots of success. They started off the season with a great team and had placed in the team event multiple times. The Princes are coached by Nate Rice. Lots of players ran their fastest times. A couple of runners were able to compete in Sectionals in Delavan IL. Those runners included Sahara Streitmatter and Bethany Sennett. The boys were able to move on as well. They were Sectional Champions on the boys’ team. They were able to move on and go to State. State runners were Sahara Streitmatter, Bethany Sennett, Oliver Melick, Cleve Hoerr, Collin Bowers, Elliot Walles, Hunter Keyster, Nick Wilson, Jacob Bosch. Oliver Melick was the only State placer for the Princeville team. Oliver placed 10th in the state. That was not all that happened for the Princeville boys’ team. The boys’ team finished 6th in State. Great Work runners!
The boys’ baseball team was also successful and had a great season. The Princes are coached by Chris Delbridge. Their record consisted of 13 wins and 6 loses. Way to go boys!! The team was able to go on and play in the Regionals. They opened up the Regionals against Galva winning 14 to 4! They ended their season at the Regional Championship against Brimfield. The score was 12 to 1. The boys’ baseball team had a great season. Good Work Boys’! The next couple of sports coming up are Girls’ and Boys’ Basketball, Cheerleading and many more!
