Grade School Teacher Wins $1,000

Ms. Marx, a third grade teacher here at Princeville, was nominated into a drawing to win a $1,000 grant for her classroom, and she won! She had no idea she was nominated, so this was all a surprise for her. Donnie Tillman, morning news anchor with HOI ABC, came to present her with the “One Class at a Time” grant while all PGS classrooms were outside to share in the surprise. The news clip from that morning will air on November 10th at 5:30 and 10:00pm on HOI ABC. 

She is very grateful to have this opportunity to improve her class and help her students. So far, there are no official plans for the money, however, Ms. Marx has a few ideas. Some ideas are more flexible seating, more books, and more items to help the students with learning. Another idea is to find a unique project for all of 3rd grade to enjoy, not just her own class. Overall, she is beyond grateful to have won, and is happy that someone appreciated her hard work enough to nominate her.
