For this past month our Lady Princes volleyball team has been undefeated in all the regular season games. They won against the Brimfield Indians, Mid West Central Raiders, Midland Timber Wolves, El,wood Trojans, Peoria Height Patriots, Galva Wildcats, Wethersfield Geese, Stark County Rebels, and Williamsfield Bombers. After hearing this, one of the middles, Morissa Martin said that “It shows all the hard work that we do and it’s awesome.”
The other middle, Ashleigh Brawley, said “Our hard work is paying off and we need to keep going and see how far we can go.”
Coach Charissa Ouart was impressed. She said, “I knew we were having a good team, but I didn’t know that we could accomplish something like that.”
Our Lady Princes even took 2nd place at the Princeville tournament on September 21st. After a hard-fought day full of games, our Lady Princes lost to the Elmwood Trojans. After talking with some of the players Morissa Martin said “I thought we did well all day and we didn’t play our best game but over all that game was not a total loss.”
Brawley added, “I thought that we stressed about the game too much and we were to caught up worrying about messing up that we didn’t play our best.”
Coach Ouart said that she “hopes to play them again.”
On Wednesday, October 9, Freshman, JV and Varsity volleyball teams won against United. Both United and the Princeville Varsity teams were undefeated in the conference, but the girls fought hard and won in 2 sets. The close game was exciting for our “Together We Fight” cancer awareness night! There were fundraisers that included 50/50, bake sale, and basket raffle. The total raised was $1766 which will all go to the Illinois Cancer Center. This money will help patients undergoing cancer treatment.
The Lady Princes have many more games coming up in October so come out and support them! Regionals start in the last week of October so come show your Princes Pride for your Lady Princes!
