Princeville Jr./Sr. High School's current winter sports are boys’ and girls’ basketball. The girls basketball team just finished up with the LTC Conference Tournament, hosted at United High School. They ended up taking 1st place. The boys’ basketball team is now starting their LTC Conference Tournament hosted by Knoxville High School.
Starting off with the PHS Girls Basketball Team, their record is currently 17-8 and 6-0 in the Conference. They’re going back to United High School once more, playing a regular season game, hoping to keep their conference record streak strong. For the girls’ stats: Sophomore Paisley Schock averages 4.7 points and 5.4 rebounds. Senior Destinee Harwood averages 18.1 points. Junior Brianna Brodie averages 10.6 points and 10.6 rebounds. Senior Leah Wieland averages 5.7 rebounds and junior Kinley McGinn averages 6.8 points.
The PHS Boys Basketball team’s record is currently 12-7 and in the conference 3-2. The boys recently traveled to play West Central and brought back a win. Coach Sennett says, “We have worked hard and continue to show improvements. Our biggest win in the last few games was a 7-point win at Stark County. We also won an exciting game at Roanoke Benson. In that game, Jake Williams hit a shot to tie it and Zach Stalter made a layup to help us win by 2.” They are looking forward to the LTC Conference tournament in the next few weeks and regionals right around the corner.
