As technology becomes more advanced in today's world, coding is becoming an increasingly important skill to learn. At Princeville Grade School the past month, all grade levels have gotten to experience and learn about coding. Students at PGS were first instructed on the basics of block coding, and then began working with partners to figure out other features in the coding program, like how to change backgrounds. Older students also got an opportunity to show leadership by pairing up with younger grades and teaching them about coding. Mrs. Strebel, who leads innovative practices like these at the grade school says, “Coding helps students develop important problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. By breaking down complex tasks into smaller, manageable steps and figuring out how to accomplish each step, students learn how to think logically and systematically.”
The students at PGS are continuously working on the 4C’s: creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication, while using fun platforms to learn!
