Princeville High School was excited about welcoming winter sports back this year. The Lady Princes started their season on Monday Nov. 1. They are coached by John Gross and Ken Baker. The Princes played their first game against Brimfield. Varsity’s record is 3-3 and JV’s record is 2-4. They played on December 9 against Rowva. This was the first home game of the season. The score was 57 Princes to 27 Tigers. They were excited to win on their home court. We are also excited to welcome back boys basketball. The Princes started their season Nov. 8. They were supposed to play in the Turkey Tournament in Brimfield but it was cancelled due to Princeville shutting down. Their record as of this writing is 0-3. They are coached by Tait Sennett and Aaron Cowser. They played their first game against Illini Bluffs on December 6, 2021. The boy’s first home game was December 11th against Elmwood. That game ended with a loss, 35-40.
Princeville Junior High is also welcoming winter sports back this year. The winter sports for junior high are boys’ basketball, cheerleading and volleyball. This year the coaches for the PJSHS Boys Basketball Teams are Chris Delbridge and William Phelps. The coach for cheerleading is Jessi Alaravado. And last but not least the coaches for volleyball are Lauren Stephens and Megan Schupbach. The Junior High Princes are excited to be back to winter sports and so are the kids.
