This spring, our young athletes at PHS have been super busy with lots of games and meets.
Let’s recap their seasons so far, to show them some praise for their hard work!
The girls faced Ridgewood in a doubleheader on Saturday the 19th. In the first game, they
fought valiantly but ultimately fell short, losing 15-0. However, their determination shone through
in the second game, where they entered the last inning tied at 9-9. Unfortunately, they couldn't
maintain the momentum and ended up losing with a score of 24-9. Regardless of the loss, their
efforts were easily recognizable! They still have multiple games left in the season so be sure to
come out and support them!
The Boys Baseball team also played a doubleheader against Ridgewood on Saturday the 19th.
They demonstrated strong effort in the first game, keeping it competitive but ultimately losing
4-2. In the second game, the boys continued their fight until the very end but were unable to
secure a win, finishing with a score of 2-0. Like the girls softball team, they still have more
games to be won and we look forward to seeing how they continue to improve!
In track news, our team had a meet on Tuesday the 15th at Deer-Creek Mackinaw, showcasing
impressive performances. Notable achievements include Hunter Keyster, who placed 3rd in the
3200 meters, and our boys' 4x2 team, which also secured a 3rd place finish. The 4x4 and 4x8
teams excelled, with both placing 1st. In the shot put, Collin Lowery achieved a state qualifying
distance of 49.4 feet. For the girls, Bethany Sennett dominated the 400 and 800 meters,
finishing 1st in both events. The team also hosted a home meet on Thursday the 17th, where
the boys triumphed, and the girls excelled with Bethany Sennett, Sahara Striettmater, and
Reagan Calder finishing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the 400 meters. Additionally, Bethany secured 1st
in both the 800 and 1600 meters. The team continues to show improvements and proceeds to
have more upcoming meets.
Great job to all our athletes! Keep up the fantastic work as we continue to cheer on our teams
this spring season!
