This year’s play was Just a Little Crazy by Renee Redbam. The production was put on by Mike Rinella, former English teacher of Princeville High School. The cast was made up of six students who all performed on Friday, April 5 in the Princeville Junior High Gymnasium.
The cast included junior Ernie Perkins, senior Chloe Stahl, sophomore Carrie Gill, freshman Bri Olshawsky, senior Andrew Spurgeon, and sophomore Emmaline Perkins. Student-actors had about two months to memorize their scripts.
The play was a cross between a mystery and a comedy. Just a Little Crazy followed Nola, played by Stahl, who moved away from her boyfriend Quincy and back home to find a mystery waiting for her. Questioning begins when the family members start finding strange things happening around the house.
Overall, I really enjoyed watching this play. It was lighthearted and well put together. I thought the actual script was well-written. Casting was seamless; everyone’s personalities fit their parts and projected their characters well. I enjoyed the outfits, too; they were simple, yet added a nice flair to the whole scene.
“It was really fun! We had such a good cast this year and made so many memories,” said sophomore Gill who played Helen.
I think the plays we put on at Princeville are under-attended. There is a lot of local talent, so I encourage everyone to check out the spring play next year for a nice evening of entertainment!
