Prom Rules & Guidelines
Prom is a special event for our students. Attendance is a privilege, and all participants are
expected to follow school policies and demonstrate appropriate behavior.
1. Eligibility Requirements
To attend Prom, students must:
• Be a current PHS Junior or Senior.
• Be in good standing regarding discipline and attendance.
• Not have excessive unexcused absences or tardies.
• Not be failing two or more classes at the end of the 3rd grading period.
• Not owe any attendance hours.
2. Guest Policies
• All guests must follow the Princeton ISD Code of Conduct while attending Prom.
Underclassmen
• Freshmen and Sophomores may attend only as the guest of a current Junior or Senior.
Out-of-District Guests
• Guests from other school districts must:
o Be in the 11th or 12th grade.
o Submit an approved Out-of-District Guest Form. (form is located outside the choir room or the tab above)
o Have the guest form signed by their school principal verifying they are enrolled and in good standing.
Former High School Students
• Former high school students may attend as the guest of a current Junior or Senior.
• Must be under 21 years old on the date of Prom.
• Must provide a valid driver’s license as proof of age.
Age Restrictions
• No one younger than the 9th grade may attend.
• No one 21 years of age or older may attend.
3. Dress Code
When selecting formal attire, please keep the following in mind:
• Suits and gowns must be in good taste, cannot be designed in such a way that exposes
the midriff or the back below the waistline.
4. Event Conduct & Safety
• Students must remain at Prom and the After-Prom Party once admitted.
• If a student must go to their vehicle, they must be accompanied by a school official or police officer.
• Students who leave the event will not be allowed to return.
• All attendees will be administered a breathalyzer test upon entry and exit of Prom and the After-Prom Party.
• Refusal to comply with safety procedures will result in denial of entry.
After-Prom Guidelines:
After Prom Event: Arcade 92 Mckinney Square 11:00PM-1:30AM
• If you bought a prom ticket → After Prom is FREE (this includes 9th & 10th graders).
• If you are a PHS Junior or Senior and did NOT buy a prom ticket → You can still come for $5 at the door.
• 9th & 10th graders who did NOT buy a prom ticket → You cannot attend After Prom.
• All students will be given a breathalyzer test when they enter and leave prom and the after prom party.
• Failure to comply will result in not gaining entry into prom.
If capacity is reached for Arcade 92, guests will only be admitted when capacity lowers.
