This week we were developing our timestables skills using a game with playing cards. The competetive element really helped our recall speed and resulted in some very funny reactions!

This week, we have been using our design skills to create our own water butts. We identified why they could be a potential lifeline to flora and fauna in our hot weather and droughts. We then explored the most efficient locations for our finished designs and we even developed and tested several prototypes to ensure that the water could be released in the way that best suited the area the water butt was located in.

As well as creating our own water irrigation systems, we have been creating a information poster with instructions so that you can make your own at home! The children used rhetorical questions, persuasive vocabulary and their year 6 non-negotiables to ensure that their writing reflected how much hard work they had put into it.
