Knowledge Organisers should be used to support your child throughout the topic being covered. They provide dates, key vocabulary, key facts and important information that will be covered. Children will use these both in school and at home to supplement their learning, allowing us to work collaboratively together.
World Book DayÂ
Thursday 5th MarchÂ
This afternoon we had visitors from Birmingham and Leeds Universities to deliver sessions about materials and how their structure depends on what they are used for.Â
We investigated chocolate bars and how much force was required to break them. Children also looked at the structure of a range of interesting materials such as: cuttlefish bones, rocks, fabrics and beetle shells using microscopes.
What a fabulous end to our learning about WW2. During this day, the children took part in a Blackout Experience, Cooking using rationed items and digging for victory.
All of the children really immersed themselves in the day.
The fire service came to speak to the children about the different roles they have within the community as well as how to avoid possible fire hazards within the home and what to do in the case of a fire.
Mapping WeekÂ
The children enjoyed using Digimap to help draw their own maps.
