A Unique Approach to Leadership Transformation
Ground Yourself in the Healing Properties of Amazonian Mapacho (Sacred Tobacco)
Mapacho (Nicotiana Rustica) has been used by indigenous people for millennia to foster a deep connection to the Earth and to the deep-self.
The energy of Mapacho helps to create grounding, connection to body, mind and spirit. It is a unifier of the “person” and can facilitate deep conversation with the whole self. Mapacho also reminds us of our ancestry and our long history of being in flow with the rhythm of the Earth and all of her children. Through time honored indigenous practices we will step into the deep wisdom of ourselves and the Earth.
Experience the power of BrainSpotting and Focalizing for deep nervous system integration.
BrainSpotting is an innovative eye movement desensitization reprocessing therapy that helps you overcome blocks and access your creative genius and relational power centers. It accesses our subcortical brain.
Focalizing is a somatic practice that embraces no shame, no blame so that your body feels safe to heal, reset, and step out into the world. It uses our felt, lived sense of the body.
These unique practices work with your neurobiological system to reset and heal. Through these carefully selected practices for leaders, we will weave together a new path forward for ourselves and work-life.
Learn practical tools for maintaining boundaries, managing energy, and leading authentically.
Practices you'll learn in this workshop are easily repeatable and generalizable during daily life and leadership.
We designed these practices to build safety, trust, and curiosity with yourself and others.
The practices you learn here are not our inventions, but they are unique in their interaction with each other. To our knowledge, we are the only leaders offering BrainSpotting, Focalizing, and Mapacho together. We pass our quantum weaving for leaders on to you to see what leader magic you'll create.
Drawing from 20 years of experience in Shamanic healing traditions from the Andes and Amazon, I help people release limiting beliefs to reconnect with their authentic selves through traditional healing practices combined with massage and energy work.
Drawing from 25 years of experience in Educational Psychology, I help leaders and teams in high-pressure environments break through performance barriers using innovative neurobiological techniques and collaborative leadership strategies.
"All I have to say is that I just got back from my first retreat with Mach'a Quay and she is amazing. The venue she booked was so beautiful, immaculate, and submersed in nature we literally had a river in our backyard! Her vegetarian foods are so delicious and nutritious! The retreat and spiritual journey she facilitated takes you on a soul cleansing and transforming journey that no person should go without! Her voice is angelic, her drumming puts you in a trance, her shamanic teaching and applications are out of this world! I highly recommend any of the workshops or weekend retreats she hosts. Mach'a Quay is a highly gifted and beautiful soul. DO NOT miss out on being in her presence, learning her skills, and eating her foods. May love guide you to enjoy any of her venues. xoxo" --Natalie
"I had the honor of being part of a group, led by Dr. Price. Her instruction was engaging and personable. What I discovered working with her is the power of dialogue - it shapes, it forms, it draws you out and closer to others. Our session opened up incredible topics, questions I'd never considered, and new perspectives I could appreciate. I learned things I'd never known about listening, asking questions, and digging deeper. I feel like real, true dialogue is an art we all think we know, but really don't. This skill has the capability of transforming lives - families - communities. If you are looking to find transformation in your own life - or desire it for your family, business, or community, I highly recommend investing in consulting with Dr. Price. She is like no other!” --Sara
"Dr. Price is facilitating a process that really works. I’ve observed it in the classroom, at an Air Force training center, and an interdenominational church. In all three contexts, the groups became communities that made better-informed decisions through collaboration. I can’t say enough regarding the value of this—particularly for organizations and groups who are interested in successful long-term solutions." --Lisa

Find, hold, and honor your own space so that you lead forward, from a grounded and joyful self.
But wait, I don't smoke or chew tobacco?!?: Ceremonial Mapacho comes in multiple forms: powder, paste, leaf. You can choose the form you want to experience. You can take as much or as little as you like when offered. In this workshop, we offer paste and powder (no smoke).
What does the powder look like/feel like? It is a finely ground powder, called Hape (sometimes spelled Rape), that is administered by a Curanndera through a pipe called a Tepi. Or it can be self administered with a pipe called a Kuripe. The Mapacho powder is gently blown into the nasal cavities.
Why would I choose the powder method of administration? This application will create an immediate grounding into your body and help you connect deeply into self and into the Earth. It opens your energy channels and allows cleansing of the energy body and physical body. You may experience a clearing of the nasal passages and sinuses as part of the Medicine's effects.
What does the paste look like/feel like? The paste, Ambil, is a thick, black paste of Mapacho and plant salts. It is self administered by placing a small, pea size amount or less on the lower gums. You then hold it in your mouth under and over your tongue. You will experience a build up of saliva in the mouth and will need to release that. You continue to hold it in your mouth for as long as you so desire (not swallowing, always releasing into your own personal cup).
Why would I choose that method? This application, like Hape, creates a deep grounding and opening of the energy body, connecting you to self and Earth. Hape can feel "sharp" in the nasal passage and the Ambil may feel a little more gentle. It also can be held as long as you like and released as quickly as you like, giving you more control.
What if my body/brain embarrasses me and I do something stupid? We hold space for stupid, and also our bodies show us our capacity. If we listen to our limits in the moment, then we create our own safe space. We are also working with trust and curiosity, as well as safety.
But wait, aren't you going to hold the safe space? Yes, and also, you hold your own safe space. You decide what is safe for you. Every practice in the workshop is an invitation. You decide how you participate, what you want to trust, and how much curiosity you bring to the room. The workshop addresses boundaries; getting to know where we feel safe and supportive and where we might desire to make adjustments.
What does BrainSpotting look/feel like in practice? It looks like staring off into space. No really, it does. Sometimes we cover an eye, use a pointer, and stare at points along a spatial line. The theory is that our brains store memories in our visual field in "spots" or files. By giving loving attention and attunement to these spots and staying curious, we allow our brain and body to reprocess and reset. As we stay curious, we may process with words, movements, sensations, and emotions. It looks like and feels like letting go of stored BS (belief systems, traumas, energy sucks) we didn't know we had in us. Finally having a chance to process gives us a chance to welcome back our energy. After BrainSpotting, people report feeling more energetic, lighter, and brighter. You can learn more here.
What does Focalizing look/feel like in practice? Focalizing is a somatic experiencing technique where we get super curious about what is going on in our bodies in response to questions or intentions. For example: notice what our body feels like as you have been reading this. Are you tensing anywhere in your body? Are you feeling loose and relaxed anywhere in your body? Following what is happening in our bodies in a judgment free zone, allows us to process deep seated cellular issues.
Uh, oh. I rarely feel embodied, I'm intelligent and on-the-go in my mind, most of the time. Can this still be for me? We created this workshop for leaders like you. We all start from where we are. We are here to support you in connecting with your embodied self. There is no right or wrong in terms of embodiment. Our shame likes to insist on the one-right-way, but the right way is the one you are doing right now. We hold the space for you to re:set and re+story what it's like to be you and what it's like to be you, leading.
Why are you offering Mapacho, Focalizing, and BrainSpotting together? We think we are onto something magical with this combo. By weaving ancient indigenous ceremony with the latest top tier mind/body therapies, we access all parts of our Being. We've noticed numerous instances of embodied and courageous action with this Program. We invite you to share in the magic.
