In Marching Bands, the Drum Major salute is used to acknowledge the audience and judges that they are ready to perform! Your salute must establish presence, authority, and uniqueness on the field. Here is a YouTube video of a number of salutes.
Imagine marching as Drum Major in a parade. Command yourself to Mark Time for 8 counts, then Forward March for 8 counts. You will do this two times. Be sure to practice this in front of a mirror or record yourself to observe your whole body.
