We are organizing a National Symposium entitled ‘Molecular Basis of Life: Health, Disease & Diversity’ during November 28th to 30th, 2024, at the Institute of Health Sciences (IHS), Presidency University, Kolkata. In the rapidly evolving field of health sciences, a deep understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying life processes is crucial for advancing our knowledge of health, disease, and biological diversity. This symposium aims to provide a vital platform for scientists, researchers, and scholars to exchange ideas, present cutting-edge research, and foster collaborations that can drive innovative solutions to some of the most pressing challenges in health and disease management.
This symposium will bring together esteemed, including a mix of emerging and established scientists from across the country, who will deliver lectures on the following broad themes:
Molecular Virology
Host-Pathogen Interaction
Cancer Biology
Neuropathology
Epigenetic regulation
Genetics
Genomics
DNA Repair
Post-Transcriptional Regulation
Cell Biology
Nanobiotechnology
Biomedical Engineering
To enhance interaction and collaboration, we strongly encourage students, postdocs, and young faculty members to present posters and participate in informal discussions with the speakers. Notably, some of the submitted abstracts from PhD students will be selected for oral presentations, providing an excellent platform to showcase their research to a distinguished audience. These interactions provide invaluable opportunities for networking, mentoring, and forming collaborations. Hence we request all speakers and participants to stay for the full duration of the symposium to maximize the potential for these important interactions.
