Presidency University and the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Kolkata are jointly organizing the ‘Young Scientists Competition’, that is scheduled to be held on 9th December, 2025. The principal aim of this initiative is to instil and promote scientific curiosity and creativity amongst young minds, particularly the school students. The students are required to make a scientific model based on the topic ‘Science for Protecting the Climate and Serving Society’. The event has been specifically designed to nurture the young minds so as to inspire them to progress in the field of scientific research. The exposure to lectures by eminent scientists and follow-up interactions would also serve as a great platform to ignite young and curious minds. Participants will have the opportunity to demonstrate their ideas on solving contemporary global issues such as sustainability and climate change, as well as innovation and presentation skills in this competition. The students will not only be able to explore the diversities of the scientific world, but would also be able to gain significant knowledge via this interactive event. The presence of renowned scientists and professors, the pioneers of this field, would further inspire the young children to explore the yet unknown aspects of the world of science and innovation. This event also aims at establishing a link between school-level scientific education and the aspects of scientific research, thereby ensuring the appropriate mentoring of young minds. Moreover, the competitive evaluation would also promote the innovative aspirations of the students and provide them with a clarity regarding the current attributes of scientific research.
