Presidency University, Kolkata
I am an Assistant Professor and Biotechnologist with approximately a decade of teaching experience, specializing in molecular plant-microbe interactions, fungal pathogenesis, and biocontrol strategies. I have successfully accomplished two national-level research projects, received multiple national-level awards, and authored several publications in international journals. I have mentored and trained approximately 20 interns through hands-on, research-driven programs, integrating rigorous science, student development, and interdisciplinary collaboration to address real-world agricultural challenges.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. Biotechnology, National Institute of Technology Durgapur (January 2018)
M.Tech. Biotechnology, West Bengal University of Technology (2009)
M.Sc. Bioinformatics, Allahabad Agricultural Institute-Deemed University (2006)
B.Sc. Major in Biological Techniques & Specimen Preparations, University of Burdwan (2004)
I provide hands on trainings to the students (UG & PG from any Life Sciences background).
Advanced Microbiology Techniques - Culturing microbes, isolation of pure cultures especially bacteria and fungi
Advanced Molecular Biology Techniques - Extraction and analyzing DNA, RNA, Proteins, Lipids, Carbohydrates, Cloning
Genetic Transformation of Fungi - Protoplast Transformation, Agrobacterium tumefaciens Mediated Transformation
Plant Pathology - Microscopic observations of time-course based infection cycles of various plant pathogens
Bioinformatics training: Genome-wide analysis of different pathogens, protein-protein interactions, homology modelling, molecular docking, molecular dynamics simulations, etc.
