In the 2018-19 iteration of this unit, students worked together to create an Chinese American Food Museum.
Eli (Class of '21) helped create an exhibit to teach the community about cooking techniques. With recipes, a stop motion video, and a live tofu cooking demo, he taught both the techniques of Chinese cooking and the chemistry that makes it work.
Trista (Class of '21) moved to San Francisco from Taiwan at the beginning of 6th grade. She was surprised to discover that boba is as popular in the Bay Area as it is in Taiwan. She and her partner created an exhibit to help people more deeply appreciate where boba is from and how it is made.
