Final Exam Bell Schedules
9th, 10th, and 11th Grade Final Exams Bell Schedule
All students who are participating in finals exams must stay for the entire class period in order to maintain an appropriate testing environment.
PHS Final Exam Incentive
Students who earn a pre-final exam semester grade of 85% or higher in a class and are not on the No Credit List (10 or more total absences or 5 or more unexcused absences) will have the option of being exempted from the final exam for that PHS-only class.
Students who earn an exemption in a class may still have the option of taking the final exam, which will be calculated into their semester grade.
Dual enrollment classes, CTED classes, and online classes have separate requirements, and cannot be included in this exemption.
Final Exam Attendance Reporting
If your student will be excused for any (or all) of their final exams, they must be excused by a parent. It will only take one email (attendancephs@prescottschools.com) to excuse student absences for final exam week. Please just identify the class periods you would like to excuse them for (this one email message can include classes who’s finals are on multiple final exam days) and attendance will be entered for the entire final exam week.

Attention PUSD Parents and Guardians
Did you know that there are often not enough substitute teachers to fill the needs of our schools? When this happens teachers and administrators often have to cover classes and programs or activities have to be cancelled for the day. You may be able to help. Have you ever considered supporting your child's school by serving as a substitute teacher? As a substitute teacher, you can select which schools you work in, the subjects or grade levels you want to support, and the days that work with your schedule. Our Teachers and Principals would love to have you serve as substitutes in their schools.
Substitute teachers and paraprofessionals earn $121 - $131/day depending on training.
Substitute teaching positions require a Bachelor's degree, IVP Fingerprint clearance card, and a criminal background check.
If you have any interest or have any questions, please fill out this short Interest form and somebody will contact you to discuss this further.
We hope that you consider supporting our students and staff by becoming a Substitute teacher!
PHS Bell Schedule 24-25
Student Drop Off & Pick Up
For anyone dropping off or picking up students from our PHS campus, please refer to the attached map and following procedures below.
1. The green dotted area is the preferred route for student drop off and pick up. Parents should pull forward as far as possible along the main building to help keep the traffic from backing up in the north lot.
2. The yellow dotted section in the roundabout is reserved for buses and special circumstances only.
3. The purple dotted section is our bus stop. Students who ride our buses in the morning will be dropped off at this bus stop and will make their way around to the front lawn to enter the building. After school, students who ride the bus home, will meet their specific route at this same spot.
PHS Cell Phone/Personal Electronic Devices Policy (UPDATED FOR 24-25)
Why?
Cell phones are valuable and important communication devices in today’s world. Prescott Unified School District schools are committed to an academic environment where students are engaged in their learning, actively participating, and building academic endurance. However, use of cell phones during the instructional day severely impedes and distracts from the learning process.
CELL PHONES / EARBUDS / PERSONAL ELECTRONICS USE POLICY
Cell phones MAY be brought on campus and to school activities/events. All electronic devices, including cell phones, ipods, earbuds/headphones, etc, must be placed in classroom personal electronic device holders when initially entering each classroom.
Students will not use their personal devices (phone, earbuds, etc.) during class time.
All teachers will have a personal electronic device holder in their classrooms that has assigned numbers corresponding to each student's classroom needs (ex: chromebook, seat, supplies, etc.).
Personal electronic devices will be expected to be silenced during the class period and will not be taken out of the classroom during the class period.
In urgent situations, students can be sent/called to the office for communication purposes.
If a student is using their personal electronic device during the class period or otherwise contributes to a classroom disruption, the teacher may contact security/administration to remove the student from class and the personal electronic device will be held by administration for the rest of the school day.
1st Offense: Student conference
2nd Offense: Student conference and parent contact
3rd Offense: Administrative referral
If students need to be contacted during school hours, please go through the school office. A phone is also available in the front office for students to use to communicate with parents. The school is not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen cell phones and/or electronic devices.
PHS Dress Code Policy
Why?
Prescott Unified School District encourages students to take pride in their attire as it relates to the school setting. A spirit of support and cooperation between parents and school personnel is needed to ensure that students come to school appropriately dressed in attire that is appropriate to the school environment and does not pose health or safety hazards. Students should dress in a manner that takes into consideration the educational environment, safety, health, and welfare of themselves and others.
The primary responsibility for a student’s attire resides with the student and parents or guardians. Prescott High School is responsible for seeing that students attire is appropriate for an educational environment and does not interfere with the health or safety of any student.
Allowable Dress & Grooming
Students must wear clothing including both a shirt with pants or skirt, or the equivalent and shoes.
Shirts and dresses must have fabric in the front, back and on the sides.
Clothing must cover all undergarments.
Fabric covering all private parts and must not be see through.
Hats and other headwear must allow the face to be visible and not interfere with the line of sight to any student or staff. Hoodies must allow the student face and ears to be visible to staff.
Clothing must be suitable for all scheduled classroom activities including physical education, science labs, auto shop, and other activities where unique hazards exist.
Specialized courses may require specialized attire, such as sports uniforms or safety gear.
Non-Allowable Dress & Grooming
Clothing that resembles undergarments and is worn as an outer layer of clothing is not allowed.
Clothing that leaves a student excessively exposed.
Clothing may not depict, advertise or advocate the use of alcohol, tobacco, marijuana or other controlled substances.
Clothing may not depict pornography, nudity or sexual acts.
Clothing may not use or depict hate speech targeting groups based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, religious affiliation or any other protected groups.
Clothing, including gang identifiers, must not threaten or promote the health or safety of any other student or staff.
If school administration determines a student’s attire or grooming is not appropriate for the school environment or threatens the health or safety of others, then the student will be asked to change and/or student consequences per the PHS Student Code of Conduct.
PHS Parent/Student Handbook
Below is a link to the updated PHS Parent Student Handbook for the 2024-2025 School Year.
Attendance Reporting
If your need to communicate any attendance concerns, please use the attendancephs@prescottschools.com email or call our attendance line at (928) 445-0900
To excuse an absence for the entire day or for a specific class period, specific information is needed for the absence by the State Department of Education. Therefore, the attendance clerk needs to know if the absence is due to illness, doctor appointment, mental or behavioral health, homelessness, bereavement, time necessary to process for the armed forces, family emergencies, family vacation/out of town, court order absences or out-of-school suspensions. A parent, guardian, or emancipated student must excuse the absence. Students are responsible for any make-up work during their absences. Students should see their teachers for due date timelines. Excused absences count toward the nine (9) absences allowed each semester before loss of credit.
PHS Student Parking Permits
PHS sells parking permits for student parking for $100 per year. Please visit the bookstore with the students drivers license, proof of insurance, and vehicle registration for the permitted vehicle. Parent signature will also be needed to complete the student parking permit process.
PUSD Transportation
Prescott Unified School District strives to provide a safe environment for all students. This includes transportation. We’ve had several vehicles approaching our school bus that have flashing red lights and the stop-sign arm out while we are loading and unloading students, driving right past the school bus. This is a huge safety concern that we feel needs to be shared with our parents and community.
Arizona State Law requires all vehicles to remain stopped until the school bus moves ahead or until the stop-sign arm and flashing lights are no longer shown.
Arizona State Law also states that you are not required to stop for a school bus on a divided roadway when traveling in opposite directions. A divided roadway is one in which the road is separated by a physical barrier such as a fence, curbing, or separation of pavement. Roadway striping by itself does not constitute a physical separation of the roadway.
Prescott Unified School District would like your assistance in sharing this information with your friends and family.
