Mrs. Bernick's Classroom PBIS Matrix

Daily Classroom Expectations:

What Students Need: Three ring binder and loose leaf paper OR note book and folder.

  • We do no t take a lot of notes, but students will need to keep many worksheets until the unit is done.

Required Course Taught: United States History

United States History: This is a required course at Prescott High School. Students will take the course for an entire school year. This course will start with the 1920s in September covering the 20th and 21st Centuries through March. Late 19th century and early 20th century history will be covered fourth quarter. Students will enhance research and writing skills through this course, as well as creating a Time Capsule and making a 1950s Situation-Comedy.

Grading: 10% Practice & 90% Performance

Elective Courses Taught: Psychology-Human Development & Behavior and Sociology-Social Issues

Psychology-Human Development & Behavior: This is an elective course in which students will learn more about themselves, the human psyche and body. This course is one semester long. Students will read two outside books for this course and have class discussion. This course will help prepare students for college.

Grading: 10% Practice & 90% Performance

Sociology-Social Issues: This course is an elective for one semester. Students will enhance writing skills as they write opinion essays based on information covered in this course that focuses on current social issues in our community, our nation, and around the world. This course will help prepare students for college.
