About Mrs. Newell


My name is Lena Newell. I am a graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi (SMTTT!). I received my Baccalaureate's degree in Elementary Education. I have certifications to teach reading (k-12) and English (7-12). I received other education at Hinds Community College and Brandon High School. Currently, I am worked towards my Master of Education in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis on reading literacy

While receiving my education, I was a member of many clubs including:

  • My favorite candy is probably either Hershey Kisses with Almonds, Hershey's with almonds and toffee, or Resees Cups
  • My favorite type of food is Japanese

  • Siblings: one brother (25) and two sisters (23 and 16) - I'm the oldest
  • Anthony Newell is my husband of 3 1/2 years
  • We own not one, not two, but THREE spoiled dogs! Belle (Chihuahua/Min-Pin mix), Rhea (Chihuahua/Dachshund mix), and Akali (Mastiff/Lab mix)
