7th - 8th Grade Return to In-Person on Jan. 26th

On January 12th, Supt. Clark sent a letter to families announcing the return of 7th and 8th grade students to in-person learning at PRB. Monday, January 25th will be used as a COVID-19 planning day with no classes/remote learning for students K-12.

On Tuesday, January 26th, all students in grades preK-8 will be able to come to school for in-person learning from 8:15-2:00.

Students in K-6 will come Monday-Friday while 7-8 will come to school Monday-Thursday with Friday remaining a flex day. 7-8 students with failing grades will be required to attend in-person on Fridays for extra help.

Grades 9-12 will continue remote learning unless they've already been coming to school as directed. School buses will continue transportation for preK-8 students. Weekly meals will continue to be provided for pick-up on Mondays at designated pick-up locations for remote learners.

FOR 7-8 STUDENTS THAT WISH TO CONTINUE DISTANCE LEARNING, a parent/guardian will need to complete the form below.

Sports Spectator Guidelines for Winter Sports

As the winter sports season gets underway, here is an update regarding spectators at winter activities.:

Home Sporting Events at Pine River-Backus High School

  • Pine River-Backus High School will be allowing two spectators per team member (no exceptions) and is asking for home spectators to enter through Door #17 on the north side of the school. Visiting spectators are asked to enter through Door #34 on the south side of the school. Doors will open one hour prior to game time. No admission will be charged.

  • We will not accept walk-ups to competitions; all spectators need to pre-register to be on the approved list. By pre-registering they will also provide contact information (phone number & email address) which is required in case contact tracing needs to occur.

  • Spectators are required to wear face coverings at all times and maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet between household/spectator groups and 12 feet between the area of competition.

  • For indoor events where 12 feet can’t be maintained between participants and spectators, participants must be included in the total capacity count.

  • Spectators must not congregate and are encouraged to leave as soon as possible upon the completion of the event that their student-athlete is participating in.

  • Spectators are only allowed at official events; they will not be allowed to attend practices.

  • Restrooms will be available, but concessions will not be offered per MDH and MSHSL guidelines.

The new guidelines are based directly on recommendations from the Minnesota Department of Health, Minnesota State High School League, and from the Minnesota Department of Education.

All home competitions will be broadcast on our school YouTube Channel.
