In 2100, the secluded kingdom of Seraph, situated on the edge of the European plate, made a groundbreaking discovery. Beneath its soil, scientists discovered a rare element capable of manipulating gravity. This revolutionary find transformed Seraph into the wealthiest and most advanced country on Earth. With its newfound technological power, Seraph attracted global investors, and its economy boomed seemingly overnight.
In 2150, seeking even greater control, the regime took a drastic step: they lifted the entire kingdom into the sky using the gravity-defying element Aetheris. Now suspended high above the Earth, Seraph became even more isolated, making travel in or out nearly impossible. The regime’s total dominance over its people succeeded.
The Seraph Uprising of 2152 was a significant event in the history of the floating kingdom of Seraph. Sparked by widespread discontent with the government's strict surveillance and control policies, the uprising represented a critical point of resistance against the centralized totalitarian regime. It was led by Selene Ren, a prominent figure born into a family of high-ranking tech executives responsible for maintaining the kingdom's AI infrastructure.
Seraph, known for its technological advancements due to the discovery of a gravity-defying element called Aetheris, had been transformed into a wealthy and isolated state by 2150. The government, utilizing Aetheris, had elevated the entire kingdom into the sky, enhancing its isolation and control over the populace. This physical and metaphorical distance from the earth contributed to a society marked by surveillance, restricted freedoms, and a lack of transparency, creating a simmering discontent among its citizens.
Selene Ren's personal tragedy, where her parents were mysteriously "erased" by the government for alleged disloyalty, fueled her resolve to challenge the oppressive regime. Over the years, she secretly gathered a group of like-minded individuals disillusioned with the government's policies. The group used the kingdom’s technology and AI systems against the government to organize and plan a large-scale protest.
On the morning of October 1, 2152, thousands of Seraph's citizens, armed with homemade weapons and makeshift armor, gathered in a coordinated effort to march towards the Castle—the symbolic seat of government power. The protest was initially peaceful, with chants demanding transparency and freedom.
However, the situation escalated when government enforcers, equipped with advanced surveillance drones known as Lotus machines, intervened. The government's response was swift and harsh, using crowd control tactics such as water cannons and aerial surveillance to disperse the protesters.
The climax of the uprising occurred when Selene Ren was captured by the government forces while leading the march. Her arrest was marked by violence and chaos, with many protesters being injured or detained. The government's crackdown effectively quelled the uprising, and the movement's momentum was lost.
In the years following the uprising, Seraph returned to its routine of order and control. The government tightened its grip on the kingdom, increasing surveillance and further limiting freedoms in response to the rebellion. The Lotus machines continued their patrols, and the Castle's authority remained unchallenged.
The legacy of the uprising, however, persisted in the collective memory of Seraph’s citizens. It became a symbol of resistance and a reminder of the potential for collective action against oppression. The uprising also highlighted the deep-seated issues within Seraph's society, including the profound impact of surveillance and the loss of personal freedoms.
The kingdom up there does not have plants everywhere, but in The Zoo, they kept all these plants in a box so that they would regulate the temperature and environment for the plants to grow. Schools always take a trip there to introduce students with different plants
All the houses have the same dome-like shape, people call it a dome in Seraph. Each dome has its own office space and classroom, which has a projection system. It lets the people stay in their house but can also interact with people like teachers, classmates, or co-workers through 3D motion projections.
