Ext. - Early morning before sunrise across the street from The Knickerbocker Deli
We see Sisco arrive at the deli and open the metal gate covered in graffiti to open the store for the day. He walks in turns on the lights inside. The store front sign Flickers to life and reads The Knickerbocker Deli.

Yeah and pack of gum please.
Well the other day I was on the way to meet my friend for a couple of drinks but the train I usually take was closed for some reason. So I had to to take the A train. Not my favorite but life goes on. Then I get out and realize I'm at the wrong Fulton and I'm pissed. Then I look up and see I'm right next to the water. And i think what the heck I'll walk down the street; and I'm right next to the Brooklyn bridge at pier seventeen at sunset. The sky looked like cotton Candy. And, All the anger just melts away because starring at that view I remembered just how beautiful the city can be.
Damn. That sounds beautiful.
She hands him the cash gets her bag of food and leaves.

It looks like you haven't slept in days.
Sisco - (says slightly annoyed)
What can I get you Ms. Evelyn
I'll take a pastrami club with ketchup no mustard and a hot tea. Could you take that to my seat in the corner.
For you Ms. Evelyn anything.
That's the least you could do. You know I've been coming here since it opened when your Grandfather ran this place. The best pastrami in the city. The city looked different back then. The subway used to be a nickel; and the subway seats would make crackling noises when you ride on them. They would go crick, creak, crick as you'd rid on them. They were very slow and sort of swayed side to side. They had fans in the sealing; and I used to think man the flies are taking rides on the fan. But you know what the city has changed a lot. There used to be men with push carts every where; on almost every block. Almost everything was sold out those carts fruit, vegetables, materials, cakes, everything. Except maybe fish or chicken and if they did was maybe that was before my time. Now the push carts are gone. The men are gone and the only thing that has stayed the same is this store.
Sisco sits the sandwich and the tea on the table at her booth. Then proceeds to sit across from Ms. Evelyn.
I get what you mean about change though. I used to know everyone on this block. Kids used to play in the street on hot days in the summer. The old folks used to come out and set up a table on the side walk to play cards. Now when i walk out side it feels like I'm on another planet. It doesn't feel like home any more.
(images of buildings changing flash across the screen)
This to shall pass. And just because this place has changed doesn't mean this isn't your home.
Evelyn takes Sisco's Hand.
