Students supported the Homefront not only through participating in war related school programs but also through extracurricular activities and events. For example, beginning in 1940, students joined the Civil Aeronautics Act in which they studied to be pilots and volunteered with the Red Cross. Students also contributed in smaller ways throughout the war, raising funds and materials to support the homefront.
