The Off-Off Data (OOD) project will seek to extend research navigation and discovery of material in various collections and connect the material to the study of theatre, specifically the downtown theatre groups and movement of the 1960s Off-Off-Broadway. Material from 1962-1985 is the most requested material from La MaMa’s archives, according to Rachel Mattson who is the Project Manager of the La Mama Archives. The material uniquely documents an important period in the history of the Off-Off-Broadway movement. There is great potential to unite the siloed data held between La MaMa’s archive and the New York Public Library’s Billy Rose Theatre Division (notably the James D. Gossage Photo Collection) with related material at New York University’s Fales Library & Special Collections.
