9(ish) Archives: Connecting E.A.T.'s legacy with linked open data

By: Taylor Baker, Eva Ives, Mary Mann, Shannon Mish

The purpose 9(ish) Archives was establishing a Linked Open Data (LOD) workflow to begin connecting the discrete archival holdings of the various institutional repositories that hold materials related to the Experiments in Art and Technology (E.A.T.) project and its many contributors. E.A.T. was a groundbreaking multidisciplinary effort dating from an initial collaboration between artists and engineers in 1960s New York City. The impact of this collaboration is ongoing, and its archival legacy is ripe for rediscovery and recontextualization through a LOD initiative.
