Voluptuous Roman clouds and Pinus Pineas, or stone pine trees, the most gorgeous trees on Earth.

Ciao! I'm Ann, an art historian who had never been to Italy. Ridiculous, I know. So, since I was going to be in Rome anyway with our class, I embarked on a Grand Tour with stops in Rome, Florence, Rome again to meet up with the class, Venice, Florence again, Pisa, and Florence for the last night (I really liked it there!). I knew that this may be a once in a lifetime trip and did my best to take advantage of that. I checked off most of the bucket list places and learned so much by visiting all of the artist archives. Paris will always be my home, but there was no way I would leave this life without having seen Italy. And who knows? Maybe one day I'll be back!
Meredith and I wondered if we needed this cute little wine jug...

And speaking of Fellini...a view into Catalano's studio became a crash course on the notorious Italian director. Catalano photographically documented five of his films, even appearing in a cameo in 8 1/2 (1963). But it would be the turn of the camera on Fellini himself that would result in a fascinating view of the man through the gaze of a fascinating woman. In 2021, Cinecittà staged an exhibition of these works, built from the archive. Our hosts showed us views of the show that were stunning for the shear monumental size of the installed portraits - the scale must have been even more breathtaking in the space.
