This year, we are piloting a new curriculum called Magnetic Literacy. This is a fabulous program that integrates all of our areas of study with highly engaging texts.

Our first Magnetic Literacy unit is called "Get Out Alive!" Students explore real life survival stories and will write an argumentative essay about which two psychological behaviors are most critical to survival.

Our main topics of study are:

• Informational texts

• Argumentative writing

• Informative/Explanatory writing

• Grammar
