The International Harvester Black Stripe was a powerful and iconic tractor which was produced from late 1975 through 1976. The International Harvester Black Stripe 1066 was produced 1971 through 1976. It featured a 6-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine delivering around 125 horsepower, making it ideal for heavy fieldwork.
This specific 1975 International Harvestor was donated to the Prairie Farm High School in collaboration with Prairie Farm Lions Club.
The students worked with determination to make the following repairs:
Rebuilt the front axle
Adjusted engine valves
Resealed valve cover
Rebuilt Hi/Lo shifting
Tightened shfting linkages
Replaced necessary internal transmission bearings
Resealed MC valve and replaced stearing pump
Resealed both brake housings
Resealed the rockshaft cover
Resealed both remote valves
Rebuilt the PTO
Rebuilt the seat suspension
Replaced seat cushions
Changed all fluids and filters
Checked and adjusted hydraulic pressures and flow
Dyno tested
Extensive body work
Extensive prep
Extensive paint
