Welcome students and parents!
Go Panthers! The 2024-2025 school year begins my 14th year at Hertford Grammar. I will be teaching your child Reading and Science. I know that 3rd grade is a big year for your child. They are transitioning from turtles to panthers and this is their first year for grades and end of grade testing. I am excited to build a partnership with you and your child throughout this school year so they can grow and be successful.
I graduated from East Carolina University in 2004 and worked in the medical field for a short while. Then, I found my true passion of education and went back to school and earned my Elementary Education licensure (K-6) from Elizabeth City State University.
My husband, Michael, and I have four children, three boys and one girl. My boys are very involved in sports. So, if I am not at school you will most likely see me at the baseball field, soccer field or basketball court.
I am excited about getting to know your child this school year!
Your child will come to me every day for Reading and Science.
Students will be expected to read each night for 15 minutes for homework.
Every Friday your child will be assessed on the standard that has been taught for that week. Students will also have a spelling/vocabulary test every Friday as well. A list of those words and definitions will go home every Monday so your child has the entire week to review/practice them.
