School 15

FSCS#15 “PERFECT ATTENDANCE TREE” will be part of “OWL” school’s mission to motivate and encourage our students daily. Hoping this will allow students to see, envision, strive for, and become excited about attending school on a daily basis. With the concept, that every student is one of Mrs. Garcia’s “OWLS!” Every student who attends school on a daily basis per month will be rewarded with the incentive of an OWL to be placed upon the Principal’s OWL Tree, which hangs right outside her Office Door. As the School Year continues and children continue to attend school they will receive a leaf for every consecutive month they complete. As the School year closes will see the growth of attendance and results fill the hallways of Mrs. Garcia’s OWL Tree.

FSCS Clinic Tours & FEAR FACTOR

On Oct 26th, the FSCS Clinic in partnership with the Behavioral Health team hosted a "Fear-Factor" workshop during student lunch blocks. The program was set to discuss how one can manage their thoughts and actions when they are stressed, fearful, worried or anxious. We were able to do this by setting out activities that evoked these feelings in order to create a learning opportunity for the student. They were enthusiastically participating, attempting each activity without being prompted by the consolation prize of candy. The students not only engaged with us but each other encouraging that they each face these feelings head-on. Students walked away with a better understanding of the difference between these emotions, tips on how to manage them and information on people they can talk to if these emotions are ever overwhelming.
