K-5 Social Studies

Our goal is to engage in a rigorous and transparent process that will allow us to select, pilot, and review several inquiry -based approaches to Social Studies instruction. This process will culminate with a recommendation to our Executive ILT and School Board by early April so that we will have time to purchase, introduce, and implement the selected materials and strategies by June 2023. Over the course of the year, our Advisors of Instructional Resources (AIR) Committee will be seeking input from and reporting out to PPS stakeholders and our community-at-large. This winter, we will also be reaching out to schools to identify pilot sites for prospective materials/approaches.
