OBOB:  Here is the '26-27 permission slip.  All things OBOB (including the 2026-27 titles) can officially be found here and special slide shows of the newest books also can be viewed from the link at the top of the screen.  We'll start officially forming groups soon!

6th-8th Graders:  for 2026-27, we will try to read every book on the 100 Essential YA Novels Scratch-Off poster.  Students have already finished some reviews and scratched off some titles on the poster.  When everyone is done with their book reports, 60-70 of the books will have been read!  Can we finish the last 30-40?  There's a donut party waiting at the end of that rainbow...

Officially Scratched Off:

Wonder/The Fault in Our Stars/The Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E Frankweiler/The Lightning Thief/Tuck Everlasting/Poet X/The Hate U Give/Holes/

(Parents - I'm also running a monthly MeetUp book group for the regular 100 Essential Novels poster.  I've read 6 of the books this year, my favorite so far being "If On a Winters Night a Traveler" by Italo Calvino... a joy to read...)

Laika Wildwood Movie "Follow-the-Crows" Project... Send us pics!

30 gorgeous, giant art crows have been placed in a 3 1/2 mile area in Portland, all supporting Laika Studio's new stop-motion movie based on the novel Wildwood.  Very Portland!  This is an upper elementary book by Oregon's very own Colin Meloy, a member of the band The Decemberists.  Take the tour or visit a bird or two and email in a picture!  We'd love to feature pictures here and/or the yearbook, etc.  Tour lasts through the end of October!
