School Counseling Program Mission Statement

The School Counselor works collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to positively impact the lives of students in a nurturing environment by respecting their differences, facilitating learning, encouraging growth, and discovering ways to give each child a bright, successful future. The School Counseling program is child-centered, strengths based, developmental, and preventative.  It encourages the students’ academic, social/emotional, and career awareness at each stage of their development. This aligns with our school mission to approach each student as an individual while reflecting our students' diverse cultures in our curriculum and environment. Students learn our core values which include kindness, empathy, curiosity, mindfulness, integrity and respect, preparing them for success here at Rigler and for years to come.

School Counselor Vision Statement

The School Counselor vision at Rigler Elementary,  is to deliver a comprehensive developmental counseling program that addresses social, emotional, and academic needs of all students.  Through collaboration, advocacy, and leadership, I am a professional student advocate who provides support to maximize achievement and student potential.  The goal is to implement a multi-tiered system of support to ensure students have access to the resources and skills needed to thrive as lifelong learners.
