Set and maintain conditions for consistent PLCs and coaching cycles.
Ensure use of PPS Coaching Protocols to support instructional growth.
Meet regularly with your Early Literacy Coach (ELC) and Instructional Coach to review teacher progress and plan support.
Support teacher reflection on instructional practice and action planning.
Clearly communicate school priorities, listen to feedback, and adjust systems to support adult learning.
Participate in and help coordinate beginning-of-year (BOY) and end-of-year (EOY) learning walks.
Provide targeted, growth-oriented feedback following classroom observations.
Complete 100% of required SoR online modules.
Co-facilitate and/or participate in all Early Release SoR PD sessions.
Engage in data reviews, feedback discussions, and instructional planning meetings.
Champion the SoR work and build investment across departments and schools.
Promote a districtwide culture of continuous improvement and curiosity.
Provide feedback and support on school-level scheduling aligned to PPS guidance.
Observe and provide feedback on implementation of PLCs and coaching cycles.
Ensure effective use of PPS Coaching Protocols across schools.
Meet regularly with school leaders to review teacher progress and plan responsive support.
Support school leaders in reflecting on leadership practice and identifying next steps.
Communicate district priorities clearly, listen actively to school-based feedback, and adapt systems to support learning.
Participate in BOY and EOY Learning Walks.
Complete 100% of required SoR online modules.
Co-facilitate and/or attend all Early Release SoR PD sessions.
Engage in school data reviews, coaching debriefs, and instructional planning meetings.
Embrace a growth mindset, believing that teaching skills and knowledge can always be strengthened.
Deliver language arts instruction using the PPS Scope and Sequence and adopted curriculum.
Complete 100% of required Science of Reading (SoR) online modules.
Attend 100% of Early Release SoR professional development (PD) sessions.
Participate in at least two coaching cycles (e.g., Fundations and Wit & Wisdom or Heggerty and Benchmark Advance).
Administer MAP Fluency (K–2) and MAP Growth (Grade 3) assessments in fall, winter, and spring.
Enter all Fundations Unit Assessments into Wilson’s FunHub.
Enter all SDLI Unit Assessments into the PPS DLI Assessment Spreadsheet.
Champion and promote SoR learning across all schools.
Model and support a culture of adult learning rooted in continuous improvement.
Design and co-facilitate all Early Release SoR PD sessions.
Participate in BOY and EOY Learning Walks.
Meet regularly with Early Literacy Coaches to plan and provide responsive support.
Manage the SoR website and newsletters and facilitate clear, consistent communication.
Create and/or share monthly family resources to all elementary schools to support learning to read at home in Admin Portal and Teacher Connect.
Support additional PD needs and implementation requests from schools.
Occasionally attend PLCs and ILT meetings in collaboration with Early Literacy Coaches.
Be a champion of the SoR work, building joy and engagement among school teams.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and curiosity among educators.
Complete 100% of required SoR online modules.
Facilitate all Early Release SoR PD sessions.
Participate in BOY and EOY Learning Walks.
Observe instruction using the PPS Instructional Look-For Tools.
Collaborate with principals and other coaches to provide targeted support.
Support teachers in administering and analyzing required assessments.
Use FUN HUB and SDLI Assessment data during PLCs to drive instructional planning.
Be a champion of the SoR work by building excitement and alignment across instructional initiatives.
Promote adult learning through reflection, collaboration, and a commitment to equity and rigor.
Participate in BOY and EOY Learning Walks and debrief sessions.
Participate in all Early Release SoR PD sessions at assigned schools.
Observe and coach literacy instruction using PPS Instructional Look-For Tools.
Collaborate regularly with principals and literacy coaches.
Attend/facilitate PLCs and Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) meetings to support alignment and instructional priorities.
Be a champion of literacy equity, ensuring all students—especially those at risk—learn to read by third grade.
Strengthen expertise in delivering short-term, data-driven Tier III interventions.
Facilitate all Early Release SoR PD sessions.
Use adopted PPS intervention tools Tier III materials in Grades 1–3.
Support Tier IIupport Tier II core foundational skills re-teaches in Grades K–3, as appropriate.
Monitor and input Tier III progress monitoring data into Synergy.
Collaborate with interventionists and classroom teachers to ensure coherent support across classrooms.
Attend district wide Academic Interventionist learning sessions.
Occasionally participate in SIT meetings for students they directly support.
Be a champion of the work, specifically to ensure that ALL students read at grade level, especially those already showing early literacy risk in the primary grades
Develop and refine your expertise in providing short-term, data-driven Tier III intervention so students reach grade level
Complete 100% of the SOR asynchronous modules
Participate in 8 Early Release SoR PD sessions
Utilize adopted PPS intervention tools
When appropriate/available, support Tier II core foundational skills re-teaches in K-3
Monitor and input progress of Tier III in Synergy.
Collaborate with early literacy interventionists and classroom educators in order to address all Tier III needs across K-3.
Attend Academic Interventionist professional learning events across the year
Be a member of your site's Student Intervention Team (SIT)
