Rent Assistance

There are a limited amount of agencies that assist in rent payment assistance or help with deposit/move in fees. Each agency has their own eligibility requirements and financial limit. Please check the 211 link below for the most updated info on which agencies have funding and/or are taking new requests. This link updates often so be sure to check multiple times throughout any given week. Please note that agencies usually have the most funding at the begging of the month and usually run out by the end of the month.

Electric/Heat

Like rent assistance, there are limited agencies that provide help with utility bills such as gas, electricity, and heat. Please follow the link below to find these agencies and get the most updated information on who has funding. Be sure to read the details section of each agency as they all have their own guidelines and procedures.

Electric Assistance

  • Income-Qualified Bill Discount program

  • provides ongoing, monthly help with your PGE bill that’s in addition to any other assistance you may be getting from other agencies.

  • Pacific Power partners with Oregon Energy Fund

  • a nonprofit agency, to offer energy assistance to residents with donated funds.

Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program

  • LIHEAP is a federally funded program that helps eligible families and individuals pay their energy bills. The program opens to the general public in December, but special outreach is provided in October and November to seniors, the disabled and households with children under age six.

Oregon Energy Assistance Program

  • OEAP is a year-round assistance program funded by a state-mandated charge added to all PGE customers’ bills.

Natural Gas

Natural Gas

Customers may be able to receive assistance and choose several grant options available to help with a past-due balance. This new program provides instant grants of up to $300 and even more options for larger balances. A grant can be used to help offset the cost of a payment plan or pay off a past-due account balance.



Internet and Phone Services

Internet

Low cost internet service.

This federal program provides a discount of $30 per month towards internet service for eligible households. Enrollment is open to households with at least one qualifying individual who has an income at or below 200% of the federal poverty level, participates in SNAP, Medicaid, SSI, WIC or Lifeline, or receives benefits under the free and reduced price school lunch program.

Discounted phone and internet service.


Cricket Wireless

Cricket has received federal funding to provide free phones, talk, text and data to households that are below 200% poverty and qualify for one of the entitlement programs such as TANF or SNAP. See more information in English and Spanish.
