K-2: We will look at some hummingbird videos from Ms.Trinh's backyard, expores nests in more details & listen to and write poetry in honor of poetry month.
3rd: Poetry face off time, a read aloud of Sisters Grimm, and an online game of fiction and nonfiction.
4/5th: Another poetry face off, we will also read aloud a favorite book The Thief Lord and decide what genre we think it is. From there we will be exploring KIds Should See This - a fun online resource.

4th & 5th: We will be doing some a digital citizenship game & learning about a Jason Reynold's challenge. He is the amazing author of Sunny, Patina, and A Long Way Down, to name a few.

For K-3 week only: Please have paper and crayons, pencils, markers or anything else you want to draw with. If you have a chance before class, try to find a best friend or a best grownup and ask them these two questions.

Grades K-1 will continue making predictions and exploring patterns in a story by reading Good News, Bad News by Jeff Mack & then drawing activity.
Grades 2 & 3 will listen to one of my favorite read alouds for the fall, Sophie's Squash by Pat Zietlow Miller and discussing what personification is in writing & doing an drawing activity.
Grades 4 &5 will explore Epic Ebooks & Vestal Ebook catalog, digital citizenship, and our resource of the month - The Brains On podcast series.

We are excited to get some books to your student in the next coming weeks!
I just want to clarify that bags of books are generic for now now - there will be K-2 bags & 3-5 bags.
Book bags are checked out for two weeks
Parents with multiple grade levels can pick up at the same time by the oldest child's last name (both level bags will be offered)
When returned, the bags will sit for 96 hours before they will be given to another student.
Please read over these details for more information on when your child's pick up is.
