Virtual Conferences

9th Grade Student Led Conferences

Nov 23-24, 2020

Prior to attending a conference with your teacher please go through a student led conference with your student.

Here are some video directions

Step 1: Get a Goodie Bag

Update: The governor has put a freeze on all deliveries and distribution.

The two-week “freeze” harkens back to many of the restrictions of the “stay home, save lives” order Brown issued in March. It will take effect on Wednesday, Nov. 18, and extend to at least Dec. 2.

Your teachers are eager to get you some treats and we hope once this order is lifted we can distribute prior to winter break.

Step 2: Student Led Conference

Before your conference appointment please have your student:

  • Give you a tour of their canvas classrooms

  • Share course grading policies

  • Show you student work they are proud of

  • Share the goals they have set

Step 3: Meet with your teachers

Each conference will be 10 minutes per teacher.

If you would like to meet longer request a virtual home visit with your 9th grade academy teachers

We are excited that Gear-Up is supporting this program for 9th graders!

Virtual meetings with Teachers

At Madison, our values are Community, Respect, Education, Equity, and Diversity. We believe families are an important part of the education of each student. We know there are challenges during Distance Learning, and we want to provide an opportunity for you to connect with Madison teachers.

This year our Parent, Teacher, Student Conferences will take place virtually (online) using Zoom (using a Chromebook, laptop, tablet, or SmartPhone).

We ask for students to attend conferences along with their parents or guardians whenever possible.

Before your conference appointment please review course grade policies, canvas classrooms, student work, and the goals your student set.

Each conference will be 10 minutes per teacher.

You can always reach Madison teachers by sending an email at any time during the year.
