Why do students have a library class?
In PPS, every school library is run by a certified Teacher-Librarian. This means that your students are being taught teacher designed and guided lessons that align to the Oregon School Library Standards. Every Grade level has a different scope and sequence. They cover library skills, author and book studies, research tools and skills, reading engagement, fluency, and creativity. The library is essential in developing the skills to create resourceful life long learners who are well informed conscientious citizens.
