The primary role of school counselors is to provide support to assist students in managing their overall well being, social emotional learning, connecting them with community resources and assisting students and families in accessing educational opportunities provided by their school and continuation of high school completion and post high school planning. This year I have been offering small groups and whole-class lessons on social-emotional topics. In the near future, I am hoping to fold in some activities that will include our school’s PBIS mascots - Compass and Evergreen.
If you have questions about any of my services, please contact me by email ksundberg@pps.net or phone: (971) 231-4533
I’m born and raised in Portland, and actually graduated from Madison High. My undergraduate and graduate degrees are from Portland State University. This is my 15th year as a full-time school counselor - all with PPS - and 19th year with the district altogether. I reside in the Lents neighborhood with my husband Ryan, our loving large dog (Walter), small sneaky dog (Jax), and 3 cats (Jake, Mia, and Desi). I love animals, being outdoors, and helping others. I also enjoy doing jigsaw puzzles and playing Pokémon Go!
