Construction Technology

Designed to help students develop the technical qualifications and life skills needed to begin a career in the construction industry, this major offers extensive hands-ons on opportunities for students to hone their craft. For those interested in the more technical side of construction, this major offers additional specializations in Engineering.


Woods and Metals 1-2

Students learn how to use various woodworking tools and machines safely while producing a high quality projects. In addition to basic Metal and woodworking skills, student learn about sheet metal fabrication, gas and arc welding, foundry and forging .

Woods and Metals 3-4

In this dual credit course, students will complete a creative lamination project and creative joinery project as develop more refined problem solving skills in the construction field.

Woods and Metals 5-6

Students in this intermediate course, will develop woodworking skills useful in any aspect of the construction industry. A combination of creativity and problem solving will prepare these students to enter the industry.

Woods and Metals 7-8

This advanced level course allows students to demonstrate their ingenuity through self-driven projects. This mastery course prepares students to enter the construction field, confidently; fluent in vocabulary, technical skills, and worksite safety.
